Protest Material Design

The design for protest materials (anything from posters to leaflets) follows the same essential rules for designing any other kinds of poster, flyer, pamphlet, etc. as well as the rules for a protest.

Tools for designing include Adobe Photoshop (for images), Adobe InDesign (for anything that can be printed), and the Open Office Suite (for everything).

[edit] The Five Basic Rules Of Design

Contrast

The difference or similarity in tone between any two objects can separate or unify them respectively.

Repetition

Unified formatting across bodies of text or multiple pages reduces the potential confusion of a reader.

Alignment

Objects in a work can be aligned together or separately in much the same way Contrast effects them.

Proximity

The closer two objects are on the page, the closer they will be in your readers' minds.

Boldness

Be adventuresome! Boring protest materials will be ignored! Exclamation points!
